I posted this in an earlier thread but had no takers.
Currently I am looking for some answers and a quick search turned up a few answers, some contradictory so I will post a new thread to see if I have better luck like this

What is the survival/mortality rate of swim bladder disorders?
Without an accurate diagnosis of root cause I understand this can be difficult to discern but there must be some sort of average out there related to types of treatment applied to the problem.

I have a Green Terror that I have had in my cichlid tank for over 5 months that is an otherwise healthy specimen. As recent as 3 days ago she began swimming vertically and has noticeable buoyancy problems.

The water parameters are good, I do 2x25% water changes per week. All other fish are healthy and show no signs of stress. And the affected fish seems to be fine as well other than the swim bladder issue.

I plan to try the frozen pea remedy and possibly add some epsom salt to the tank as well.
Maybe at some point I will consider aspiration but only after the other options have been exhausted.

TIA

Still sitting in the hospital tank after a few green pea treatments.
Appears to be healthy, just cannot swim :(
I may give her one more week to come around before making a decision.

Try a LOT of Epsom Salt. My friend had a Terror with the same problem. She dosed a 15 extra high with about a cup of salt every other day for about a week and cured it.
This fish was head down tail up! Keep using the peas. Sometimes it is constipation or a internal bacterial infection. Try Maracyn II. If she eats medicated food may also help. Most antibotics are not absorbed well by fish Minocycline is.
I have to tell you I thought this fish was a goner! However she turned him around! I still don't believe it! Good Luck!
