I was wondering the type of diet I should have my green terror on so that he can grow quick and healthy but also enhance his color. Right he’s fed meal worms and tetra cichlid pellets. This is how he looks now.1377331

They tend to have a longer digestive than more carnivorous fish like oscars. You don't want to overfeed these guys because they will get fat fast before longer. Pumping it with more food won't necessarily make these species grow that much faster. You're GT is starting to look more plump. I would add in a more "aquatic vegetable" based pellet like New Life Spectrum Algaemax into the diet more often like 3x a week.

I agree with Rocksor, because these cichlids are omnivores, not strict carnivores, a pellet like Algaemax or other Spiruina based foods, are good choices, and not overloading on meaty stuff(his proteins).
But more than food, I believe more water changes, and low nitrates are the key to good growth and appearance. Yours has nice colors already.

Yes, the relationship of fish feeding to growth isn't linear, as in x amount of food in equals x inches of growth. It's more like x amount of food beyond what's required or optimal equals x extra waste and slower growth. Not just my opinion, there's been a lot of study of this for aquaculture science. In other words, you get diminishing returns from trying to hurry up growth beyond providing sufficient tank size, keeping your water clean, and feeding a moderate amount of a quality food.

Best diet considered for them(Green Terrors) is a varied one that includes frozen and live food along with pellets. Earthworms, shrimps, mussel meat and flakes can also be fed to them along with fish pellets, crickets and tube worms.

Do not overfeed them with a diet that is high in protein to avoid digestive problems.
