Hi, Can anyone help?

My green terror over the last week has become fussy with his food and is looking rather down in the dumps!
Still has his colour but still eats some live food refusing hikari gold pellets.

tank 85g, running 4 mths, fluval fx5 filter + 1 other filter, water change 25% every 2 wks with RO water. water parameters all good, tank mates 2 placid oscars, 1 blue acara, 1 convict, 1 severum, 1 firemouth, plec and 5 silver dollars all are relatively young, small and all seem to get along.
:WHOA::WHOA:

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I would say cut out the live food for a while and make sure you are keeping up with the water cleanliness.

You have way too many fish in the 85 gallon. Minimum recommended for one full grown Oscar by itself is 75 gallons.

Thats a lot of fish in an 85g. Check your nitrates? You might need to be doing more than 25% water changes every week to keep the nitrate levels in check.

Not really. If they are petstore young/small than that amount of fish in that size tank isn't even pushing the tanks bioload limits and he has more than adequate filtration to cover that, though once a week changes rather than once every 2 weeks may be more ideal. Though I'd recommend doing more of a 50% water change weekly as well, that's more of a personal preference than a necessity, especially for him with it's current stocking levels.

While the tank may be overstocked in the future, in it's current state it is certainly not overstocked, given what I said above with the other poster. Now if these fish are all 4-5+" and not truly young/small then yea I'd agree, but going off what he has said I don't think those are immediate concerns though down the road they very will will be.
