Hi,

I bought a green terror at the store recently to start growing out until my Christmas larger tank comes. I didn't think to ask if it's a saum, but now I'm wondering if it isn't.

It's about an inch with very little color so I'm unsure how to tell. I was not having great luck finding pictures of the fry.

Is there a way to tell or do I just have to wait until it grows some?

I attached a few pictures of there is a way and they would help.

Thanks!

It is a rivulatus. But it’s not showing any color yet in the fins. It’s possible it’s a silver saum and not gold.
But it is horribly thin and stressed, so it might not be showing it’s true colors just yet.

For comparison here is my gold/silver mix. It is showing a hint of orange on the tips of its fins.

Thank you, those pictures were from right after I put in tank so very stressed. I think it might be silver as there was some white to the tips at store.

Your fish is beautiful! I can only hope mine looks that good at that size. I can't wait to get a new tank all to this fish. The firemouth with it currently is not the most friendly. The fish took a few days to come out of hiding but just saw lots of free swimming finally while writing this.

Thank you:)
It will definitely shine if it gets a tank it can be boss of. Watch the firemouth closely and be sure your little guy doesn’t get too beat up. It already looks like it took a bit of a beating after it was let out of the bag.
I hate that a lot of fish come from pet shops looking so thin. I’m sure it will look great once you fatten it up!
