Hey guys,
After months of stuffing round and hunting I have a pair of green terrors!!!

I now have fry and have separated them off to one end of my tank with the female (bit of a episode with my big male taking a trip to the floor!! But he is ok now) as I have a synadonis that needend to be separated and thought the male might as well be too.

My question is how long can I leave the female with them? I have read everything from indefinitely to remove straight away, so what are everyones experiences?

Thanks,
Brett

It depends on the parents really, some allow the young to grow out in the tank with them provided the tank is not too cramped, some will attack and kill the young if they breed again. If the tank is divided you can keep the parents on one side and the growouts on the other. The general rule of thumb is until the parents breed again at that point you should remove them to a growout tank, about a month.
