I just bought two green terrors there both young the one is 4 inches the other is 1.5 to 2 inches im pretty sure the larger one is a male very colorful long dorsal fin that comes to a point lots of orange the female has round fins and the dorsal doesnt come to a point and doest have a pattern any tips on quicker growth i feed them large pellets by topfin then night crawles in the day and cichlid gold at night and change the water every 2 days any tips on sexing and growth rate?

Pics would help to sex them. But the males dorsal usually has a trailer on it, and they sometimes will have a bump on their head too. As far a growth, if you feed them well, and keep the water clean, a inch or more a month IME.

GT are known to be slow growers, growth rate and can very but My GT (Gold Saum) Grew about 1/2 inch a month for the first year then slowed down a lot. As for sexing them posting a pic would be a big help ;)

I have a green terror that is little over a year and a half years old and it is 8 inches or so. I am not sure of the sex. It doesn't have a hump but I understand some males never get them. They are beautiful fish.

Just cause it has sharp pointed fins doesn't make it a male. I had a pair that looked exactly the same both had sharp pointed fins the male didn't start developing a hump till a few months ago.
