So my LFS ordered some Green Terrors for me (they haven't been around much lately). They came in at 2" so I decided to get two. I will be putting them in my 75 with my 3" red dot severum and some fire mouths. I know a pair of GT need 100 gallons or more. But I hear they are very slow growers anyone know how long I have before I have to upgrade or get rid of one?

I raised 2 and tbh they just weren't fast growers for me. I had them in a mixed tank with other species (oscar, tinfoil, pleco) that just seemed to grow faster. I can't back that up with any data, but they took a good while.

Biggest challenge can be keeping them alive. Not saying GTs are hard, but they're not as easy as some assume. They're timid around a lot of tank mates (even when they have the size advantage) and more susceptible to disease than a lot of CA/SAs. I find they do the best (show the most growth) when they are easily the most dominant fish in the tank.

they grow slow as piss. especially females

I strongly disagree. I grew this male out (back in 2012) from 2" to over 4" in two months time. He was the sole inhabitant of a 55G, that included large frequent water changes and a high protein diet. Male Gold Saums are easily capable of growing .5-1" a month, given the conditions are favorable.

@ 4.25". Sorry for the additional post; sometimes I want to uppercut my iPad.

Mine grew pretty fast, too, in a 55 where the only other inhabitant was a smaller Geo Brasiliensis.
