I just bought a 3inch GT couple of days ago, and today i notice he has first stages of HITH. He has holes on gill plates, and one in center of head. Holes are still small but are noticeable. He is eating very well on Hikari pellets and tropical flakes, tomorrow i will be doin a water change also. He is under some stress from my 5inch convict, but just the occasional chase around the tank. I am looking to get this treated fast. I will be buying a divider so i can divide the green terror from the convict. Would Salt treatment and water changes cure this disease?

Clean, clean water is the first step. As far as meds go Metronidazole is the best. Also adding vitamins C & D has helped. One of those vitamin supplement blocks in the tank is good or a lquid vitamin supplement added to the food is another method but don't go crazy with them, the block is the easiest way to go. You might want to go the clean water, vitamin rout before hitting it with meds and see how that works out. GL
