Ok ‘m trying to get some help. Now I’ve never breed any fish but community fish and I’ve seen these green terrors and I think the males r awesome looking. So I bought a supposed pair 1.1 from my local fish store. There huge about 10” there in a 72planted tank with platys witch I could careless if they kill them all. Now I want to breed these guys and I’ve read a lot about them but my biggest problem is I don’t think the female I paid for at my lfs is a female so just trying to get some input. They get along great the colorful one is all over the tank the dull suppose to be a female is always at the bottom picking up sand with its mouth and just stays in the corner. Now the dull one has no color and has supper short fins. But it looks like a male to me plus the fact it’s so big. Also if I do get them to breed dose this mean I’m going to get crappy looking offspring because how dull the so-called female is? Because if that’s the case I rather just keep the nice looking one and can the other one and find someone who has a nice female I put some vids up to take a look.

look like two males to me? why is he so pale i have no idea. Check water paremeters.

thats what i'm saying the dude who owns the LFS I think hosed me big time i bought it like that all grey and shiznit I know it's ugly

I had a female that had a face just like yours. Same colour as wel. And if you compare their fins, the pale one has no extended fins, which could also mean a female.

Still I can't say for sure that it is a female of course, but there is a pretty good chance.

the first looks like a false gt while the other looks like a true gt

the false aka gold saum will have pointed long fins on a male, and pointed but short fins on a female

on a true gt, though, i have no idea, but i have never seen rounded fins on a gt before

NAH... the first one looks like a gold saum and the 2nd one looks like a white saum.

vent both of them, thats the only way to be sure.
