Iv got a 3-4" green terror and a 2" female both brought healthy happy and fighting fit, although about 2 months ago they have kind of lost thier will to live, not swiming around much, being picked on by smaller tank mates, lost thier colour and arent that egar to eat.
they have no marks, scars, warts, or any other signs of sickness/distress
for about the last 2months iv had them by them selves trying to feed them up, get them big strong and happy again, although they just have no real intrest in eating, they do but not much, they are both every skinny and have no colour. they show no signs of getting better or worse.
the place i brought them from said theres a chance that they are so badly inbreed that once they get to "x" size their organs etc are too deformed and they sort of stop, growing living etc? any other ideas????

I haven't heard that one. You should just be feeding pellets that are easy for them to eat right now. If they don't eat then just take it out. Hopefully the aquarium is big enough. Shame on the fish store if they are selling bad fish like that. I would check that the temperature is warm enough and add some aquarium salt in there.

My own GT starved himself for months on end. He finally eats earthworms now, but he never touched any pellet or flake-type food. Even those 'color bits, tropical crumbles' or whatever the red granules are that every other fish in the universe loves. And in spite of his age, he is still only about three inches long without his tail. I think somebody actually might be producing bad Gold Saums somewhere. I was told mine was pond-raised in Florida, but who knows anymore. I'll eventually try stuffing food into the worms before he eats them.
