I just added a Green Terror to my tank yesterday. The tank also includes a barracuda. I put a rosey in the tank tonight for the barracuda, and the Green Terror was all over it.

Will feeders be ok for the Green Terror? I know many of you look down on feeders all together, but a) they are all my barracuda will eat, and b) I don't really want to try and train the cuda off of feeders because I enjoy feeding them to him.

I think maybe if I feed the cuda larger feeders (he is at least 5"), the GT won't go after them. However, I have not seen any cheep larger feeders other than goldfish, and the consensus seems to stay away from them.

In the wild GT's diets do consist of more than smaller fishes so I would say no to the idea of feeding only feeders based on their varied diets. Varied diets do incredible things to a Green Terror color also aside from being healthier. I read your claim that feeders is all the cuda will eat but have you tried shrimps or worms? How large is the GT? It will not take him too long to get over 5'' and after that he will compete with the cuda for the food especially if he thinks he's the alpha dog of the tank. You should also think about gut packing the feeders the best you can with high quality foods before feeding them to your fish.

I will feed a more varied diet because I will feed the cuda once a day or less, and I will feed the GT twice a day. The GT is probably 4 or 4.5 inches. As for Alpha status, I think my Vieja Argentea has claimed and will keep that spot.

That claim about my cuda only eating live fish may have been premature. I have not owned him for very long. I just assumed he would only eat feeders because he is already 5 inches and the LFS guy said he would only eat feeder fish. And, like I said, I enjoy watching him go after the feeders.

I did set up a 10 gallon tank for feeders today, which will give me the opportunity for gut packing. Any suggestion of a high quality food to gut pack with? I have New Life Spectrum, but I am not sure if Rosey minnows will eat it; I guess I will find out soon.

a few feeders now and then will not hurt. but varried is always better give them some worms the v/a and gt will love them !!!

stay away from feeders..just do like ghost shrimp..and pellets..

feeders are fine if you breed them yourself

less chance of disease

try convicts
