Green terror Or Jack Dempsey?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i think they could both potentially reach the same size. ive seen pics of 12"ers for both species

Hello, what I have seen about two species is that the gt do to themselves more big. I have two species but they aren´t still adult, but gt grows more fast

They both have the same "average range" although it's more likely to have a GT exceed the norm than it is a Dempsey... GT's are also slightly "beefier"...

i've seen few captive raised saums over 10". a few wilds at 12-13". and many normal morph Jd's at 11-12"+ captive raised.

Thanks guys im looking for a large Cichlid that can still be in a 75 gallon, even if by himself. I have a Green Terror,Jack Dempsey,Red Tailed Chalceus,African Clawed Frog, and a Common Pleco in it now. (I know its overstocked) but for now there still small enough to live in it. Not really sure what i want to settle for in the tank yet...

They get similar size, but GTs probably grow slower. I'm not really sure how fast JDs grow, but I assume its faster than GTs, because they grow wayyy slow.

GT tend to be overall larger, especially in bulk as said. But they grow far slower than jd. I got my gt and jd at the same size. They grew together until about 5", then the terror just stopped and the jack is now 7".
