Today I woke up to find my green terror with several problems.

He lives in a 85G tank with plants, 3 filters, I do water changes about every week, gravel bottom and other fish friends such as:

7 Silver Dollar (5-7")
1 Striped Liporinus (7")
1 Turquoise Severum (5-6")
1 Walking catfish (7-8")

I feed the these 2 main fish foods: (both in medium sized pellet format)

I alos just started feeding them these brine shrimp. He doesn't seem to touch them thow.

About 2-3 weeks ago, I put about 2-3 dozen guppies in the aquarium that where in the pond. A few days later they disapeared. I didn't think this would happen because I trained my fish only to eat pellets for over 8 months.

These are some pictures with some problems. One of his eyes are white. He has scales pealing off, his jaw on one side in caved in.

Please help this fish.

Also only a few days ago, my clown pleco died due to misterious causes.

Well, it seems fairly obvious to me that the guppies were carrying some sort of pathogen. Maybe a fungus, maybe a parasite, IDK.

Many here will advise adding epsom salt (@ 3 tsp per gal- I think, you'd better double-check that first) and raising the temp to 84*F.

Failing that, a course of a broad-spectrum anti-fungal or anti-parasite med may be your next step.

Also, pretty sure you can't train an aggressive cichlid to NOT eat something that can fit in it's mouth.

Well, I woke up today to find my GT dead.

I will buy some salt for the rest of the fish.

Thanks

Epsom salt is best used for baths, not dose in main tanks. Keep it in your cabinet and observe your other fish for unusual signs.

Sorry to hear that- I see from previous pics that he was a nice specimen.

Anything else in the tank showing signs/symptoms/stress?

this has to be the best example for a reason to stay well away from feeders. they bring nothing but disease and stubborn fish.
i know you didnt use the guppies as feeders but anything that will fit into the gt's mouth will become food as long as the gt can catch it. as mentioned above it is a predator. at least you have learned the lesson, the hard way unfortunately, but at least you have walked away that little bit more experienced and that can only help your other fish.
i wish you good luck.

All other fish seem to be fine. Showing no signs of anything out of the ordanairy. My Leorinus is always acting weird so it's hard to say if theirs anything wrong with it.
