So something peculiar happened over the weekend. My green terror who isn’t very aggressive at all became ultra aggressive and was attacking every fish and myself when I would come near the aquarium. He was also shaking his head side to side quickly making me think he was trying to spawn. (I have always thought he was a male) The next day I come back and see fish eggs on a rock close by and the other fish are eating them. He is now back to his normal self. It’s totally possible one of the other fish in my tank laid those eggs but it was very weird to see the GT that aggressive. He is the only GT in the tank. I attached a pic of him 311F67CC-911E-4C2F-9CB2-7E1C19897F33.jpeg in this thread.. any chance he is not a male and actually a female? The long fins and coloration made me Think male but he is also 5.5 inches without a Nuchal hump. Would love to hear anyone’s thoughts . Thanks!

doesn't really look female at all in my opinion.. colors are a bit too intense to be female and I see a black marking my females under the eye like this pic I pulled from google but colors cant be a definite answer I always vent to make sure if I really want to know . and what other fish are in the tank its possible someone else layed the eggs and made him get protective

Thanks.. I didn’t think so either but good to hear what other ppl are also thinking.

The coloration and trailers look make to me. It doesn't have the usually female characteristics.

However, the sexual organ looks female to me. So I'm confused on this one.

What about the sexual organs makes it male or female?

If it did just lay eggs I’d expect to still see the egg tube.
Example: my female after laying eggsE21EF3BA-CEC1-4FCA-9F76-4DED89A28E9C.jpeg
And my male always has his little wang out :p

You can see the females is bigger, rounder, and blunt.
The males is pointy and narrow.
