Hey all I have a 55g with a little sev and a pair of angels and to be honest Im getting sick of them. I found out my angels are both females and Im tired of them fighting. So I would like to get a single green terror instead.Just had a few questions. Does anyone know there growth rate? The only reason Im asking is the one I plan on getting is a drab blackish/gray with some blue spots around his head.I know they get more color as they mature just curious how long before they start to color up and do they all get that magnificent orange tail? Also he is about 2.5 in and just curious if he is way to young yet to sex? The final question is Right now I have and fluval 306 on the tank. I want to take to fluval of and use for another tank.Do you think a single aquacleat 110 would be fine will weekly WC's or should I maybe throw on another filter? I would like to be able to get away with one because 2 HOB's cant get to noisy for my room. Oh sorry one last question do you think he would bug my upsidedown cats all they do is hide under the logs and rocks so I dont think he would really be able to get them. Im amazed they can get in some of these spaces.

The growth rate going to very some but it took almost 2 years for my GT (gold saum) to hit 9 inches. they are for the most part farely slow growing. Most grow at about 1/2 inch a month. There are some that get better growth rate. Yes as the get older the color do show more. it took my newest one a few months before the colors really started to show (around4-5 inches). Depending on which type of GT you get will depend on the coloring of the tail. Gold Saum GT are the one with the orange tails. At 2.5 inches it going to be very hard to sex the fish. Some will tell you to go by fin shape or the head shape ect but IMO this is very poor way to sex a gold saum gt. Alot of people was telling me mine was a female but it turns out it is a male. took hime to about 5 inches before he colored up real nice and got th trailing dorsal fin. Best way it to let it get some size on it. Around 4-5 inches would be good on sexing the gt.

2.5" GT should be showing a thin edge of orange on the dorsal and tail fin, and if it doesn't, it is either a female or a poor quality GT. There are many poor quality GTs in LFSs and I won't buy it unless it is already showing good color.

such a beautiful fish!!ilove JD

Haha thank you and I dont think I would want to trade now.He is such a funny little fish and he has some nice color patterns cant wait to see them as he gets older.
