Hi everyone, I have a juvenile Green Terror and I am uncertain of its sex. If you could give me some pointers as to how you can determine this that would be greatly appreciated! I have attached some photos of it below. 10782928368_IMG_7064.JPG 10782928368_IMG_7064.JPG 10782631920_IMG_7073.JPG 10782635952_IMG_7062.JPG

It has male color/pattern traits......but lacking the long fins.

My guess is a good looking female.

Could be male just not matured much yet, approx what length is the fish?

Looks male with how bright the spangles in the fins are. Females this is a lot duller. 20180409_222118.jpg
Here is a female I had for a while. You see how there is no shinny in her fins.

Normally I would agree that it looks male with all the color in the fins, but the body is rather full looking, forehead is very slanted, and it looks like the blue might just be starting under the jaw. I’m leaning towards a good looking female.
Be watching the vent area. Soon you should be able to tell off the vent.

I'm gonna be sure to watch the vent. What exactly am I to look for? Like an enlarged egg tube or for it to be flat?

Yes. The egg tube will be flattish to rounded looking.

And males will be pointed.

My male always has his showing. Where my females only show their egg tubes closer to when they will lay eggs.
