I have two green terrors one is two inches with No orange trim on the tail, it has an orange trim on dorsal and very few spangles on the body 😔 and overall dark in color. The other green terror is 2.5 inches with Orange trim on the dorsal And tail, it has spangles on the body but overall still dark in color. I just recently got the smallest one. I was attempting to get an opposite sex from the one that I already have. So my strategy was to get and green terror that looked the most different from the one I already have. Even though I'm not a fan of it not having an orange trim on the tail 😕. Yesterday when I first added the new green terror they lip locked for about an hour. Then they began to take turns waving their tails at each other and puffing up. Today they just pretty much ignore each other even when they are close to each other. So my question is is there a way to tell if they are opposite sexes from each other while they are this size?

They are still small to sex. One thing is for sure the darker coloring can be due to the black gravel you have plus them not being dominant in the tank.

dominance has a lot to do with color ime. while the two terrors may look very different, it may just be because one is dominant over the other regardless of sex. you have to wait until they are big enough.
