Ok, so a few weeks ago my green terror slowly lost his appetite and had white stringy poop. The most common thing i came across when researching this was internal parasites.. Since then I have treated with paraguard and seachem metronidazole. (seperate times) I also added epson salt because I read this might help. Diet isnt the cause for this because he hasnt eaten in a couple weeks and is starting to get thin. I have also treated with melafix. Tonight I noticed he was acting even stranger by shaking his head.. I really don't know what else I can do. Any suggestions?

sounds like internal parasites... and the first 2 treatments you mentioned should of worked.
Im not really sure what else to suggest for you.

What size tank are you trying to treat your GT in?

Unfortunately a 55 cause I don't have a hospital tank set up. I am giving to propper doses though... yea its expensive lol

smaller tanks make it much easier for sure... petco is having their dollar a gallon sale at the moment you should go pick up a 20 long or a 10 gallon.

with a smaller tank its easier to keep the water crystal clear and they require less meds.

what type of media are you running in your tank?

I'm going through the same problem ATM with my angels, they've been having white or clear poo for months now, on and off. I tried Epsom salt and changing diet with temp or no results. Now I'm trying some new local meds that seem to be based on Jungle Lab Parasite clear - 1 tablet per 50 liters with 50% wc for 4 days and temp raised to 86-89 F. Hope it works. Most articles and frum I've read about it online seem to have had good results with Parasite clear tablets and active ingredients in it are praziquantel, diflubenzuron, metronidazole, acriflavine, so look for smth with these ingredients in it. Good luck

a pic might help, but by what ive read my gt was showing the same signs a few months back and i tried everything. then i was feeding my african cichlids spirulina and said what the hell so i tossed some in his tank and he perked right up and hes bin his self ever since.

good luck with your angles alex. I will have to try jungle clear too. For tonight though I can drop some extra algae waffers in because i dont have spirulina on hand. :(
