green terror tank mate(s)

i want some or 1 tank mate for my gt

she is maybe 3-4 inch long and the tank is a 40breeder
i have a bigger tank comming (FOR SURE) so i can buy a fish that gets pretty big

i was told by my lfs to try the following
cuban cichlids
jaguar cichlids (i realy like these)
salvini cichlid
blood parrot cichlids
red bellied piranhas ( i want these but probaly not a smart choice)
tiger pike (realy like this but cant find info on it)


they have LOTS OF FISH so tell me somthing that would be good and ill get it
i need to make up my mind quick before the gt gets to big

your question was answered here http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=272734 before it got derailed.
a 3ft tank is a no go for a 2nd cichlid tankmate. the fish you have mentioned are also not suitable as tankmates in a 3ft (dont know about pikes though). at 3-4" your GT will be claiming the availible space all to herself.

Basically any fish that growns faster than the GT and are less aggressive than the GT.
No fish are the same, so it's really about trial and error.
Personally i went for a pair of escondidos with my gt, a salvini and 2 firemouths.

firemouths wont work i had one in there with it and the firemouth was extreamly agessive to it

You answer is nothing. Once you get the 125, then ask. A 40 gallon isn't suitable to grow out 2 or more aggressive cichlids.

Agreed no point trying as when you get the extra space the fish will behave different anyway . Just wait til then

ok what if i wait what should i get then i will get the tank and i would just like to know the fish that i should get so that i can research it and make sure its what i realy want and that its i smart choice also that gives me time to get one orderd in if i need to
