Heyy I have a green terror and some silver dollars growing out in a 55 right now to move to my 150 gallon later. Would it be possible to add a Texas cichlid to that mix?

potentially a texas and a green terror in a 150 is definitely do-able. But you have to go about addding him in a careful manner. the GT already is established in the 55, dropping a texas in will probably result in it getting beat up badly. How large is the GT? You might want to add the texas with another cichlid or two at the same time, so the texas doesn't get singled out. A sajica or something similar would be a decent choice, and could live in the 150 with them as well.

Your best bet is to go with what you want to stock but have a plan in place for if or when things go bad.

First off, have a secondary holding tank.ready or a divider for the 55. Also ensure the fish are similar size.

Ensure your feeding quality food and ensure there is.enoigh for all fish. Hungry fish are more aggressive.

Ensure hiding spaces and broken site lines.

Have fun and good luck.

Thanks for the advice, the GT is only about 2.5 inches so I thought it would be alright, I have a free 29 gallon though if things go awry so I think I will give it a try!

Thanks! Yeah I use new line spectrum pellets and hikari frozen they seem to enjoy it a lot. I have a secondary tank in case of emergency so I think I'll give it a go

Hey I have a gt that is about 3.5in in with a mix of other Americans between 2 and 5 inches. Ull be fine. My gt is towards the top of the chain at the moment and the texas is aswell but the gt is more aggressive than the texas. I'd add some more cichlids if I was u to disperse the aggression. 2 cichlids will end badly as one will beat the other in my experience. Maybe a couple jds

So they did not have a Texas when I went to my lfs so I ended up with a synspillum instead! Re arranged the tank as I put him in. Some aggression from my GT at first, he went kinda psycho lol. but today it has calmed down and they seem to be coexisting somewhat well
