Green Terror turning Black???

My GT has turned a shade of black. I have in the tank. 2 cons, 1 JD, and 2 pictus cats. All is good, water, levels. etc. etc. fish seems healthy, just black now. Any ideas as to why??? No recent changes of any sort to the tank either.

What colour substrate?

Substrate is light pool filter sand. Like I said though the fish has been living with that sub. for about 6 months now, and just started turning black about 2 weeks ago.

maybe its showing signs that its ready to breed...look to see if tube is out or it could be the your gt is being the dominant one in the tank

I know this is a stupid question to ask, but are you sure its a GT? Also, my female gets some black on her during breeding. Maybe its a breeding dress? But, if its a new color morph, then please do show us some pics.

could be stressed, breeding dress, sick, dominant... the list goes on, is it acting normal, all other then the colour?? how black is it??
