My friend would like to give away a pair of Green terror (male at 9' and female at 6'). And because I just have empty 125gallon tank I am interested to take them, but I would not like to keep only Green Terror alone in this big tank, and I would like to get some other tank mates later - actually I could get two 10' Oscar's at the moment, would they be fine with GT pair?
So my main question is what tank mate do you recommend and how many beside this two GT in 125 gallon tank. I hope someone could tell me his experience with adult GT and other tank mates - I would really appreciate. I know most of you would recommend me Silver Dollars, but I just don't like them, so hope someone can give me other recommendations. Thanks!

I forgot to mention that I would like to add some cichlids and not Leporinus, Silver dollar's, etc.

Lots to chose from...smaller ones include firemouth and convicts, JDs,
If you don't care about where the fish come from jewels are nice red fish in contrast to the blue green. You may even pull off with some yellow labs. Just have some hiding places. If the smaller fish survives the first day, you are half way there.

Like one poster said a GT pair that is bonded decide to breed all your other cichlids are going to be chased and harassed or even worse killed. If you where to choose to have one GT in the 125 with your oscars i'm sure you would be fine. But a breeding pair will raise some hell. I have both male and female in my 125g with 2 pictus cats and red tailed shark and it works. They get left alone most of the time. But when they breed everyone but the GT's are pushed to one side of the tank fearing for their lives.:nilly:
