My female green terror has stringy poo:nilly:. What should i do? Should i force feed her some garlic?? She's not eating anything and just swims around slowly what should i do:WHOA:???? Help
thanks

You could try and feed her some garlic soaked food, but I don't know how you are going to force feed her.

If you can't get her to eat, you may have to put her in a hospital tank and medicate her. The only parasite meds I have used is the jungle brand & that worked very well. I can't remember the name of the product I think it's called Parasite gone.

Ok Jungle has 2 kinds. They have Anti-parasite which is a medicated food (probably won't work because she is not eating)

The other is called Parasite Clear which is a tablet that you can drop into the tank and the fish absorbs the meds through the water. This is the kind that I have used before and it works pretty well.

This is all the advise I can offer, maybe someone else knows a better way. I hope I was helpful, and I wish you good luck!`

Sorry to hear that bro. Ive been dealing with the same thing for the last 3 months. I tried several things and in the process lost my favorite carpintis. And she still wont eat.
What I am starting to think is something is wrong with the digestive track in GT's. Alotttt develop the white feces. Maybee an intestinal bacteria that Gt's are very suseptable too.
You can refer to my thread if you'd like. I got some good advise. http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=332854
good luck

im soaking pellets with garlic and water
let's see what happens

Jungle parasite cure works pretty well you could also try PraziPro I have had luck with both. If you get it to start eating again be sure to add some veggies to the diet, I use Omega One veggie flakes a few times a week to my GT's diet along with the occasional skinned peas.

She has clearish stringy poop with very little color from food? If so then i am pretty sure shes getting bloat and i wish the best of luck to try and heal her. Personally i have never healed and fish of bloat. Whatch her belly over the course of a couple days and keep us updated!!

Jungle parasite clear works really well, that sound help quickly.

Sorry to hear - seems like most GT's have tapeworms lately. Garlic is a preventive not a cure - overtime Garlic creates an internal PH not suitable for tapeworms. Bloat is a twisting of the stomach from a build up of excessive gases, there is no poop associated with bloat as they can't move their bowls. Prazziquantel is the cure for internal parasites - Metro, Prazzi pro, or Jungle Parasite clear. It is a labor intensive process - the meds are cheap - and it does really work well.
