Green terror

My green terror fishes are healthy and aggressive especially when they are fed. But whenever i come closer to the tank they fear me.They eat only when i go away from the tank , why do they pretend this way in spite of being so aggressive?/ Why they don't interact with me like oscars or flower horns

How big are they, how many, and what size tank are they in?

Mine were like that when they were smaller. As they grow, they seem to get more outgoing. What size are yours? Mine was like that until about 4".

Spend more time next to the tank. They will warm to you sooner or later.

More time near the tank, also mine didn't become mean until prob 5" but not he tries to kill anything that comes within 2 feet of his tank
