does anybody know if my 3-4 inch green terror is going to show anymore color. Before him i had a much larger, much more colorful green terror that Im pretty sure was a gold saum. what do you guys make of him?pics1 006.jpg

How long have you had him? I've noticed most fish I have bought from the lfs, tend to color up after I've had them on a high quality diet for awhile. Also having owned a few GTs, I recall them getting more colorful with maturation.

That one is also a gold saum and will likely continue to get more colorful. Its a bit tough to tell but I think that one is a female and may not be as colorful as a male but im not sure because ive only had male GTs

Well, he looks like a 'she'. The females don't show anywhere near the amount and intensity of color. Your previous fish must have been a male then. Just a lot of blue in her 'beard'. In fact when breeding the females darken. Here are pics of a mature male and female. She will probably develop a bit more color, especially in the edges of the fins, but by 4", they should be showing pretty much adult coloration. Also males get much larger than females ... like twice the size is the usual.

Maybe it's just the angle, but this looks like a short-bodied variation of the Gold Saum.

i got her about 2 or 3 months ago she was only about an inch, i feed her hikari bio gold and since ive had her shes been the most extremely mellow fish in the tank. when do you guys think she will reach full size?

I dont know if its the photo but to me it looks like one of those "designer" fat deformed round body terrors. ive seen to many of those and they make me cringe..... hopefully im wrong and its just the photo

My gt has been growing pretty quick and has come a long way from when it was little. It's outgrowing my Jaguar, red terror, and my flower horn. Here's my most recent pic. Probably around 4-4.5 inches long.
