Hi, i'm new to american cichlids and this forum. I've been in the hobby for 3 years now and i always liked american cichlid but wanted to get more experience first but now i think im ready. So i have a 55g tank with a jack dempsey and 2 firemouths all fish are around 2 to 3 inches today i bought 2 green terror i will only be keeping one. Had a 4h drive with the fish so i bought 2 in case one didn't make it. With that said they are only about 1 inch so i put them in my 20g quarantine system. I was wondering if theres something i can do to make them grow faster so i can put them in the 55g as soon as possible ? They will all be going in my 125 when they reach about 6 inches .

Welcome aboard

Good foods and Water Changes about %50 per week. Also the bigger the aquarium the better.

I personally would feed fish that size 2 times a day but don't over feed so you won't jeopardize water quality.

Green terrors are a slow growing species and if you end up with a breeding pair spawning will slow them down even more.
My old male reached 10 inches in its first year. My females around 5 inches.
I believe this to be quite a fast growth rate for rivulatus.
I fed them pellets cooked peas and lots of prawns.
As Mr Lindsey said, frequent water changes and a large tank will help.
They are a fish that you need to be patient with. It's worth it in the end.
