I have a 5 year old green terror & I can't seem to keep any pleco's with him, wthout him tearing them up. Any suggestions or is that just the way it's going to be?

If that's the case, then your GT will not tolerate Plecos...thats' life hehehe...

sorry to say but that's just the way it's going to be. once large aggressive cichlids get to adult age and size, it can be very difficult if not impossible to get them to accept new tankmates. :)

I find that rhino Plecos have also earned their name and a large Rhino could possibly defend himself well enough if you can find one

One thing you might want to try (possibly at the cost of another pl*co) is rearrange all of your tank decorations when you add the new tankmate. It is possible that your GT is terrorizing the pleco for being in his territory. Although it is most likely that the entire tank is his territory. Also, make sure you have a cave for the pleco to hide in during the day.

That must be a tough Gold Saum.....most big Plecos I've seen can really hold their own against tough cichlids....even kicking their asses to the point where they are left alone.
