Wondering if a green terror will be able to get a long with 6 tiger barbs. The GT is a juvenile right now and the tank size is 55 gallons and also has a fire mouth and stripped Raphael catfish.

I'm sure it'll work out for a while. I have my juvenile convict with my ruby barbs and he chases them sometimes but no nipped fins.

Thanks, I bought the last 3 Tiger Barbs my local PetSmart had. I guess I'll go later this weekend to see about getting another 3 since I heard they do best in a school of at least 6. Also, I read to keep the school an odd number like 7 or 9 but is there any truth to this?

Sorry , never heard of the odd number stocking , have a question for you.
When you say juvi GT , how small is the GT. Looking at the angle of tiger barbs picking on the GT.
The Tiger barbs can be bothersome.

The GT is 2 inches like I just got him.

The GT's are not aggressive till they hit the 5 inch mark and a pack of tiger barbs can be a hit or miss , you may want to watch out till the GT is able to defend for himself

Ok I will do. I hear the more Tiger Barbs you have the less aggressive they are against other species. Do you think getting 8 would help?

Make sure you have some cover (rocks, drift wood ect.) GT will be fine. If they push him too far he'll just end up coming out of his shell a bit earlier is all. I've never seen or heard of tiger barbs causing trouble for cichlids 2+ inches. My giant danios have to have odd numbers or they'll kill one off I'm not sure about barbs. I had one leap out while I was at work. By the time I got home they were all ready working on the smallest (his tail is all messed up) I've always thought that was crazy. How the hell can fish count and why do they care?
