I have a male 8" green texas that has bred with my 5"barred midas anyone know how long it takes for eggs to hatch?Should I remove the eggs or leave them and see what happens? Thanks in advance.By the way I see green texas going for over 150.00 on aquabid does that seem like a good price because I would sell mine to get some more aggressive fish.

the eggs should take around 4-5 days to hatch and I'd leave the fry with the parents. both carpintis (green texas) and barred midas are excellent parents so they should take very good care of their new brood.

as for the price you mentioned, are you sure you're not thinking of red texas (hybrid) that go for those prices. a full grown show specimen of a green texas would be worth maybe $80 but probably not even that much. they are awesome fish but it's usually only different types of flowerhorns and frontosas that fetch those prices...as far as cichlids go anyways.

and special blood parrots like my king kong, wich I will say again that the lfs didn't have room and thought it was just a regular parrot, so my 10" kkbp was only $19.99! worth 150-200 :D
