The larger one is most probably male, the high profile is a very male trait, also the pointed fin ends.
The smaller may be female, or a sneaker male, masquerading as a female.
First a male to compare
now a female, note the less sloped forehead
above she is in spawning dress, so note the black blotch in the dorsal a common female trait in carpintus
but even when not in spawning dress and young (here only 2", there is a hint of dark in the dorsal, and a more torpedo shaped profile, and more rounded fin tips.
Can you get some side shots of the vents?
Here are some pictures of vents from a couple 3” green terrors. You can see the slight differences in the female vs male.
Yours I’m a bit stuck on. The vents look the same and my first thought is both female, but.... seeing the fish overall the top looks female and the bottom male. Maybe it’s because yours are more mature then the ones I’m used to venting, I’m just not sure.
A clear side shot should help clear things up. In the bottom picture I posted you’ll see how the female vent is rounded. The male very will be pointy and slanted towards the anal fin.
