Green Texas with Teeth

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hey all, saw a Green Texas (Herichthys carpintis) with teeth today. Like, proper, visible, om nom nom nom lot's and lot's teeth. Do Green Texas normally grow teeth? I'm sure they do to a certain extent, but do they show super duper clearly usually?

It's just that I've seen heaps of Green Texas, but never really one with this much teeth. XD

They do. There teeth are not as prominent as the pseudo canines on some of the larger guapote cichlids...but they're there slightly behind their lip. Here's a couple shots of a very large and agitated, H. carpintis "escondido".
