I wouldn't say that they need a 100 gallon tank, but a 10 gallon I think is a tad small. Maybe a 20 gallon would be better, just monitor them to make sure that they "behave". Alot of hobbyists don't believe in mixing herps, but if they come from similar habitats why not try it? Don't herps come in contact with each other in the wild? Yes there is ALOT more room to escape, etc, but they have to coexist. Just my 2 centsConnor0729;864798; said:from what i've heard, you need more than a 10 for tree frogs, and mixing herps is a bad idea in anthing under a 100 gallon tank. so no, you can't do that

with TheBloodyIrish and z trip. They pretty much summed it all up. except- there can also be disease/parasite issues when dealing with wild caught animals. This is made worse by mixing species. Certain species may not have a tolerance to diseases from other parts of the world that theyve never been exposed to. Also, fire belly toads were in these lfs setups?? thats the worst part.
Yes. And fbt tend to spend the majority of their time in the water. which means the toxins from their skin diffuse through the water. When not properly maintained, ie-daily or twice daily water changes, they can actually eventually cause harm to THEMSELVES by drinking this water. not to mention other species.....all in all, mixing species bad idea. and never underestimate the power of "much more room to escape" in the wild vs a 10 or 20 gallon. This is much more important than you may realize. Even if animals are not fighting, it is definately stressful for competing species to be housed in such closed quarters.Amphibians have secreting glands that can be toxic if they are stressed out and most animals are genetically programmed to fear snakes.
