I got a green tree python at the expo i went to yesturday. It's about 8-10 months old but I noticed when I got home her bottom left jaw looked a little swollen and discolored. It doesnt look that noticeable unless your looking directly at her head on and you can compare it to the other side. I was wondering if maybe she got hurt trying to bite something? I already tried to get a picture but the camera doesnt pick it up. If you would know what it is or how to treat it that would be great. I am just concerned about her health.

Pictures are needed, to figure out what may be wrong; find a better camera or post them anyway. BTW Buyer beware, should have been more vigilant and not impulsive.

I will try to take a better pic. Anyways i was vigilent it is something that you can't really see especially if your at an expo with a ton of people around. It wasnt impulsive either ive been wanting one for quite a time now xD

Does it look like the jaw is dislocated?
You have to pick her up, and open her mouth ( without hurting her ).

Best way is to use one of those wooden things the doctors put over our tongue when they tell us to say "aaahh".

If you have none of these, get a credit card ( or something similar ) clean it and use it to pry open the mouth of the GTP.

Then tell us what you see.

is it possible the jaw was just misaligned? like... if it has tried to bite or had it's head restrained it could be as simple as the jaw not having been set back into place yet by the snake. without pictures it is really impossible to know what you are talking about.

So, have you done checking the Chondro's mouth?

I checked up on her I think her jaw might just be misalighned because when she bit me (she has some attitude) her jaw did get stuck. And miguel no its not that and i cant see the inside of her mouth. if her jaw is just mislighned what should i do?

You should take it to the vet or return it to the dealer.

I dont think its that serious. She ate without a problem and is perchin and behaving fine. It just looks like her jaw isnt realigned.
