ive been struggling with green water in my 75g for monthes now. is the only alternative to empty it out ang scrub it? ive done 50% wc for weeks and when it seem to be gone it just comes back. HELP, my tank is glowing green

When I had a green water problem, I used a Magnum 250 HOT filter with the micron cartridge. It worked amazingly well. I used 2 cartridges in rotation...one in the filter while the other was being cleaned and dried.

Good luck.

just kill the lights
only turn them on for a little while a day and in no time it should clear up.
:)

I agree, if the tank isn't planted it only needs enough light to see the fish. Reduce the light level / time, or shade it from natural light.
Keep up the water changes to keep the nutrient levels low as well.

Emptying and cleaning the tank wont fix the problem unless you change whatever conditions are encouraging the algae to grow. If the tank is operated exactly as it is now.. exactly the same thing will happen again. :(

Cheers
