Has any one ever had this problem with the greeen wolf eel , mine has done that sex metamorphes,from male to female has laid eggs several times and those large sperm sacks. I did have a male and female togeather but they fought like crazy seperated them. they were in the same tank for about a week.they are about 16 inch and now the male is running around in circles biting his tale and the rest of his body just ripping into his self some days he is fine then all of a sudden he bite his self. the other one started to do the sam thing but has stopped they have know tank mates and they are in a 65gal tanks they still eat. just crazy I have had them for almost 2years I had one do the same thing 8 years ago then it just died and that one I had for 5years it was 18 inches .
