My pet Green Sunfish or Greeny, is getting relocated to a nicer home. It will be a 30 gallon tank with black sand, live plants and rocks and wood collected outside. My only question is what tankmates could live with him because right now my shellies are living in there and theres alga all over the place. I was thinking plecos for the algae and cory cats for the bottom? The tanks ph right now is at 7.5 but i will lower it to a 6.5 after i move the cichlids out. Could cory cats and plecos handle a 5-6" Green Sunfish?

P.S. Pics will be up shortly! ;)

i don't think much else will live with a green sunfish in a 30 gallon tank, specially if i remember correctly you saying it was a 5 or 6 inch fish?

The cories are going to be a quick snack, but the pleco might work. I think your going to need a bigger tank eventually. Just make sure to feed the pleco lots of fruit and vegetables. I never even thought about feeding my pleco until he got very skinny and sick.
