I just joined up and am in need of your insight. I've had a 35 gallon pond for Koi in my sunroom which got me interested in getting a 56G column tank for the family room. I caught my own "pond fish" at the community pond but got tired of feeding them live feeders so they went back. Then came the Cichlids... on sale at Petsmart... about 16... and they grew... and they mated. Now I have the 29G for the next generation... and the next set of generation 1 have spawned. Now about 200 fry are in the 29 with their parents. I have a blackish butterfly Koi that is beginning to look too big for his pond (about a foot long) and more Jeweled Cichlids than I know what to do with. I don't think another large fish tank will fly with the wife! Any insight on a direction to go with too many and too large fish would help. Thanks.
