Lomé, Togo
Just a quick note to say Hi. I am currently living in Togo, West Africa. I have a couple of aquaria set up although nothing very special in terms of species. My main tank is a freshwater 500L set up. Before Togo I was in Cameroon and had a tank set up with Lake Barombi Cichlids - I'll see if I can find some photos to post, although I was never very successful in photographing them as I hadn't found this forum then! My present camera is a Pentax *istD and I have a small selection of pentax and sigma lenses - it was via a link on the PentaxForums.com website that I found you.

All for now - looking forward to learning how to better take aquatic photographs and hopefully contribute something too.

Steve

Welcome to APF, Steve. I used to visit Lome occasionally when I lived in the Volta Region of Ghana (more than 30 years ago). I always used to enjoy the opportunity for some French-style food, after the rather basic fare available up-country in Ghana. I dare say many things have changed since then.
Are you keeping local species of fish?

Alan

Thanks for the welcome.

In reply to maddog10, Togo gained it's independence in 1960, so it depends on how you define recent ;)FYI, Togo is sandwiched between Ghana and Benin in West Africa.

Cheers, Steve

I blame the public education system here in the USA for not teaching me what i needed to know about geography.

Hi, Steve. Glad you found this forum. It is very active, and there is a lot of technical, aquaristic, and artistic knowledge here. Funny thing: I'm a Starbucks barista in the Atlanta, Georgia, USA area, and work with a lady from Togo!
