Hi! I finally decided to start learning as much as I can about photographing fish. I currently have a Minolta point and shoot that was *top of the line* about 7 or 8 years ago. But the lack of speed in it's auto-focus is going to send me to an early grave!

When I can scrape the cash together, I am seriously thinking of getting a Nikon D60 as I think that camera will be more than decent enough, and at a more reasonable price than a new D80 or D-90. Actually I'm sure the D40 would be more than sufficient and even cheaper, but I like the idea of some of the D60 features.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to learning much, and enjoying the view!!

welcome julie. :)

like you, i graduated from a p&s (canon powershot s30) to a dslr and it was my desire to take better photos of my fish and tanks that led me here.

i learned a lot along the way and am still learning, it never stops.

looking forward to your pics.

Thanks, all!

And for those of you who politely said they can't wait to see my pics.. well, obviously they haven't seen my pics! Part of the *charm* of my fishy talks is my running joke about my pictures... I toss in a very nice clear shot every once in a while.. and point out it was a friends pic!!

Honestly, some aren't bad, and there's a myriad of reasons why most aren't great... but it's only up from here!!

Welcome... i like seeing people more local to me in the hobby :)
