I am the proud new owner of a Senegal Bichir and (I believe) an Albino Chocolate Pleco. They're both quite small at this point and I have them in a 10 gallon until they get a little bigger when I will be getting a much larger tank and use the 10g for Q and growing new fish to add to the larger tank. What's really unfortunate is years ago I had an Oscar in a 55g but after he died and the tank ended up in the garage while I decided what to get next my wonderful mother sold it for $50. That's right, a 55g glass tnk, stand, hood, the whole shebang for $50.... thanks ma!
Anyway just wanted to say hi and get my post count up. Amazing forum by the way.
(I didn't see an intro thread so I hope this is in the right place)

Welcome to MFK (actually there is an "introduce yourself" area but does not matter).

Pix are always cool with the introdution ^^

They're pretty camera shy. Especially the pleco. Also my camera was having trouble with focusing past the glass so I'll work on that and post better pics later. But here's my bichir.fish1.jpg

YUP...bichirs are VERY VERY addictive....:naughty::naughty:

Oh I've already experienced the addiction. Tank logistics is the only thing stopping me from buying out my LFS.
So far the Sen and Pleco completely ignore each other as they have seperate places to hide. Except once when the Sen sat on the Plecos head. It was awkward.

welcome and yes, watch the plec closely. I would recommend getting a 75 gallon instead of a 55 this time...the extra width is very nice and well worth it IMO

Well my old 55 wouldn't be right for bichirs anyway as it was mostly height, its just frustrating. It would have made a nice trade at least.

Just target feed your pleco and you won't have a problem with it getting hungry for your sen
