Hi from Michigan USA
I kept fish a long time ago I had a 150 gallon fresh water tank that I kept for about 8 years. We lived in a mobile home and the power kept going out. Back then we didnt have all the back up tools we have now. One winter in a major storm I lost all my fish to a power outage. My fish died after the first night. I disposed of my fish in a snow bank for barial that spring, then we left to stay with sombody with power. When we returned My place had been broken into and all my stuff had been destroyed. Needless to say I was so upset I got out of fish all together. About two years ago my mother-in law picked up a cheap 30 gal from Walmart. I helped her set it up then she got a 50 gallon with fish included given to her. The fish started to die right away. I took a look at the tank and figured that in the move every thing trapped under the UGF had been disturbed and was now poisoning the fish. I built her the same filter I had been using in the mid 80's.
Within a week the fish were back to being healthy.
This gave me the bug again. I set me up a 50 gallon and now ime working on a 10 gallon for my son to get him started. As is my way ime DIYing every thing except the back filter. Ill post picktures when ime done with the 10 gallon.
But for now here is my 50 gallon
