I thought I would go ahead and introduce myself and ask a couple of questions.

1st off, I have not had an established tank running since '04 and have missed my finned friends. Unfortunately, I likely will not be able to set up my tank for a while yet as I am remodeling my house and still have not one room ready to place something as permanent as an aquarium (stuff like finished floors and walls are kind of important!).

I do want to start thinking about and researching what type of tank I would like to get started though.

I have a 75 gallon overflow with a wet/dry set up which was used for a salt water fish only and did have copper used in it so reef is out of the question.

I have been partial to Arowana but I know that this tank is not sufficient for a fully grown silver, Which brings me to my next question, has anyone bred a "pygmy" Arowana yet? One that would live comfortably in a 48" run?

As time goes by I will post some pics of my old "fish room" in which a little bit of everything was housed. Everything from Guppies to 10+ inch Oscar and a couple really nice reefs.

Hers a pic to start:

Welcome to MFK!! Looking forward to seeing you get back into the hobby.

Welcome!!! Glad to hear of someone else getting back into the hobby. Have fun!!!

Here's another pis, one of my favorites. All this is making me want to say screw the drywall and floors, I need my tank!

Of course the wifey says otherwise, and if momma aint happy, aint no-one gonna be happy :(

Welcome to the forum, I am also new here and also looking to return to the hobby.

I had never kept tetras besides perhaps as a young child, but jumped right into African Cichlids. The next logical choice was salt water, and before I knew it, I was addicted and setting up a reef. Lacking funding, I had decided to put the hobby on hold for a few years.

Like you, I cannot start immediately as I am expecting to relocate in a couple months, but as soon as I get into the new house, I plan on setting up a few tanks - most likely a small African Cichlid tank focusing mostly on Demasoni, and perhaps an aggressive saltwater setup at the request of my other half. :)

Good luck on getting your tank ready, I'm sure you will end up in salt water again before you realize... it's difficult to go back once you've started. ;)

Also, good luck with the re-model!
