Do you have a picture of it? The varieties closest to wild colored are not particularly red...probably nothing wrong with your fish health wise

It's probably a regular tiger with light dark skin (lol) or it could be a "wild" type.. What ever it is trust me you don't have a "new" oscar..

Yes, I've seen several perfectly healthy gray oscars. In my limited LFS experiences, they always top out at 10" or less, and there's something a little different about the finnage or body shape, if I recall. I'd have to see them in person to know what I'm talking about again...

No, too dark. Normal tiger Oscar, there. Looking at his body I'd guess he has potential to get HUGE.

I bought an oscar at about half an inch, grew it to about 3 inches and gave it to my friend, its now at about 7 inches and growing. Started with zero orange but got more as he grew, still not alot. For pics pm ajtennis

Yes, it's a lovely Oscar and should get more orange as it grows. You can probably also look forward to the coveted olive head color.

What u mean too dark lol when I look at him he grey he was kinda in a dark spot tho... But ya got the small ones from petsmart 2 of em 24 minnows at least once a week... Freeze dried krill meal worms and crickets... Pluse med chiclid pettets and tropical flakes.... They on a good diet id say lol.... the flakes are more for the angels and the krill is for the aro but shystie oscars steel some every now and then lol.
