Grocery Shrimp for Clown Loaches

All,

I picked up a pound of shrimp from the grocery -- can I just throw one or two into the tank raw, weighted down, for my clown loaches, or do I need to cook it / do anything else to it first?

I feed it raw. It sinks on its own. I don’t even thaw it out.
just drop it in and they nibble away.
Note: I use peeled, tail off shrimp.
