who cares
I got some fish from rapps yesterday and all the other fish are fine except the grommadoe. He is just laying in the back of the tank he swims a little and he looks like he is breathing heavily. He is in the same tank with a wesseli I got in the same order who is active and eating. Do you think he just needs more time to settle in? He is in a 55 gallon tank with a
1.5" wesseli and a common pleco. The water paramaters are fine.

well i would say that he is just stressed out..if he is breathing heavily wat u can do is put an aerator in there and also such the lights off so taht he is not as stressed and no fast movements around the tank other then that he should be fine in a day or so...

that would be ur best bet..the airstone

Grammodes are shy as heck sometimes. Even when they get big, they are more lurkers than glass bangers.

Just give him some cover (flowerpot or something), keep up on water changes, etc. and he will settle in.

By the way, water flow in that tank (as noted) would be a good idea. Both your cichlids come from moving water.

i agree with all the above more water movement & hide places will bring him out provided there is no internal things going on. coming from rapps it should be swimming in no time

he is doing bettter now thanks for the advice. The only thing now is both the grammode and wesseli only feed on the bottom is this strange? When I first put the food in the wesseli just stares at it and the grammode hides niether of them eats the food but later in the day they are picking stuff of the bottom. They are both eating because I got them 2 weeks ago and niether of them have sunken stomachs and there showing decent color.
What are some good foods to get them to eat when I feed them because it's driving me crazy thinking there not eating well. I have tried frozen brineshrimp, frozen bloodworms, frozen mysis shrimp, live brine shrimp, NLS pellets, Tetramin pellets.

Tried worms yet? I have yet to keep a cichlid that'll turn down an earthworm.
