Been a while since I posted on this site , however I wanted to update you on my Loach hoard...I'll see if I can get pics, they are so active and I have a lot of driftwood in my tank. So it's hard to get a clean clear pic.
Besides most of you have seen pics of my XXL Cl's

Anyway the hoard is thriving on raw shrimp, mussels and a ground beefheart blend a local discus keeper gave to me. This diet really thickens them up and have pushed the YO YOs to approx 6-7" each. Hoping to move the Yo Yo's from the 180 grow out to larger qtrs here after Christmas..

What if any effects do you think this diet will have on them in the long term? Specifically the beefheart blend?

Currently keeping 4 red tails, 17 cl's, 2 kubotai , 6 zebra's and 4 Yo Yo's

my only issue with the beefheart would also be the digestion issue since loaches weren't designed to be eating mammal-based food

im beginning to get into clown loaches and have done some research, but im still learning. my question regarding the diet of the OP is, aren't CL's Omnivores? don't they need some form of plant matter?

also wouldn't it be bad to feed only salt water food to fresh water fish?

i know it can be, but isn't it a must for a healthy diet? that was my major question in my previous post; in regards to the feeding style of the OP.

also, do the cucumbers need to be skinned or blanched or chopped in a certain way?

is there any other type of veggie matter that CL's love?
