I have been searching high and low for "aquarium" plants that would be great at floor/ground cover, low light and in 6.5 - 8 ph water

I have been looking at riccia, but it's a floating plant, I just want to set and forget, c02 is no issues, I have a setup for c02. but because it's going to be a heavy planted aquarium, I am thinking that towards the back, may get not as much light due to the higher growing plants..

also, I would prefer propper ground cover plants, not like riccia.

cheers!!

Howdy,

I had great luck with

Glossostigma elatinoides and Echinodorus tenellus

riccia as a groundcover is a PITA!
It has to be held down with fishing line, It grows, it has to be trimmed, ITs a mess!

Otherwise the pearling is amazing!:grinyes:

I am planning on a extreamly little, to no maintaince garden :P

would these plants be suitable... (I am putting in a fish that I don't want to touch)

cheers!

No such thing IMO.

yep..pretty much.

low light and lawn arent something that come one with the other.

most lawns need lots of light tostay short. you can grow the lawn plants in low light but they will get tall in search of light.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo..........

(I was planning on housing an electric eel, and wanted it to look special.. And hence the didn't want to put my hand in there :D )

Thanks anyway guys/gals

Take care!

:D

You can do a moss lawn. Get enough flat rocks to cover the area you want and then tie java moss to the rocks and let it grow in and you will have a moss lawn. I have done this before and it work well for a low tech. lawn.
