I know its risky adding more than one Arowana to a setup unless you have a very large group. I recently ordered four 6-7 inch silver aros from PetZoneSD which should arrive tomorrow. If fighting starts, I have separate aquariums however id like to achieve a large group of silvers in the long run. How exactly is this achieved, and how do you think my small group with react? Any tips? How should the aquarium be decorated, should I provide hiding spots? I have a large tank but in your opinion what would be the correct size aquarium that would last these four fish for two months?

Ur small group should be ok with minimal fighting. If remember they were already community with a bunch of other silvers

A 55 gal should be fine

Thanks, btw what could i introduce for a cleanup crew (if any)? I was thinking apple snails as plecos may be too messy. As far as tankmates, i know i dont have many choices but would Oscars, bala sharks, and silver dollars be a problem?

Arowana communities are very unpredictable, what works for one may not work for another. Lots of floating plants and heavy current have been used to aid in reduction of fighting. Best to have separate housing available. I would look into no less then a 75g to start with these being moved to a 180g 6x2x2' within a couple months around the 10-12" range.

As for final tank size. I have four 30" arowana in a 450g 96x36x30" tank and IMO it is too crowded. I would recommend something in the range with a 10' x 4' footprint.

Avoid oscars or any aggressive cichlids, but severums should be fine...
Silver dollars and Bala shark is ok in shoals..
