Hi, I have a small ¼ gallon nano tank with a Placket Beta in it on my desk here at work. It has one of those nano filters from red sea on it that I run without the lid on (the lid vibrates).

I have a small anubus in the tank itself. Can I grow this plant partially submerged in the filter. I would like to have just the rhizome/roots in the water and the leafs sticking out of the filter top. I hope it would grow out enough to disguise the filter. I have Java moss in the tank with the fish and will probable try a crypt.

I use the office lights in my cube a 36in 25watt t8 bulb, its a 3500k but I could get away with throwing another bulb in there. Probable an alto. the light is 20 inches above the substrate in about 6 inches of water.

The leaves that have been growing underwater will die off and it will take a little while for the plant to start growing leaves out of the water. But I have done the same thing!

I've done it too ... as noted, there may be some initial die-off, but eventually the plant will resume growing ...
