It has been a hand full of months since I posted that I was going to set up a 10g tank and grow meal worms to feed my fish.
Here is my report. I put cornmeal and wheat germ in the tank then added the meal worms.
This was in November and the house was cold so I put a plant heating pad under the tank and put it on a temp controller and set it to 76 degrees.
The meal works turned into the beetles and there was not much growth. I was feeding them lettuce (that it where they get moisture) and any scrap vegies that went bad,
But when I cut an apple in half and put it in there cut side down BOOM! Population explosion!
Here are a few pictures.
My tilapia love them.
